QuestionAnswer
Independent Clause Can standby itself or with a dependent; Expresses a complete thought. Subject+ predicate (no conjunction)
Dependent Clause Cannot stand by themselfs. Do not express a complete thought conjunction + Predicate.
Simple Sentence Consists of a single independent clause that includes as subjet and adverb ( predicate)
Compound sentence Joins two independent clauses with help of a comma and coordinating conjunction or just a semi colon.
Complex sentence A single independent clause and a dependent Clause. ( subordinating conjunctions)
Compound-complex sentence Compares two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause
