clauses

independent clause can stand by itself or with a dependent ,expresses. a complete thought subject+predicate
dependent clause can't stand by themselves do not express a complete thought. conjunction+subject+predicate.
simple sentence consists of a single independent clauses with the help of a comma and a subject and a verb.
compound sentence joins two independent clauses with the help of comma and a coordinating conjuction or semicolon.
