TermDefinition
Independent Clause Can stand by itself or with dependent.Expresses a complete thought .
Dependent Clause Cannot stand by them self.Do not express a complete thought.
Simple Sentence Consist of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb.
Compound Sentence joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon.
Complex Sentence a single independent clause and a suboranating conjunction .
Compound-Complex Sentence combimes two or more independent clauses
