Sentence Types

QuestionAnswer
can stand by itself, or with a dependent. Expresses a complete thought. Subject and Predicate Independent clause
Cant stand by themselves. Don't express a complete thought. Conjunction + subject+ Verb/ predicate Dependent clause
consists of a single , independent clause that includes a subject and a predicate Simple sentence
independent clauses with the help of a comma and a CC or just a semicolon Compound Sentence
a single independent clause & a dependent clause . always has a S. C Complex sentence
combines 2 or more independent clauses with at least 1 dependent clause Compound - complex sentence
