QuestionAnswer
independent clause can stand by itself or with a dependent clause. expresses a complete thought. Subject and predicate
dependent clause cannot stand by itself. Do not express a complete thought. Conjunction and subject and predicate.
simple sentence consist of a single independent clause that includes a subject and a verb
compound sentence joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon
complex sentence a single independent clause and a dependent clause.
compound- complex sentence combines two or more independent clause with at least one dependent clause
