sentence types
| Question | Answer |

| Independent clause | Can stand by it's self or with a dependent clause, Expresses a complete thought , subject practice, (no conjunction) |
| dependent clause | cannot stand by themselves. Do not express a complete thought: conjunction+ subject+ predicate. |
| Simple sentence | consists of a single, independent clause that includes a subject and a verb (predicate) |
| Compound Sentence | Joins 2 independent clauses with the help of a comma (,) and a coordinating conjunction or a semicolon (;). |
| coordinating conjunctions (FANBOYS) | For, and, not, but, or, yet, so. |
| Complex sentence | A simple independent clause with a dependent clause. |
| Compound- Complex Sentence | Combines 2 or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause. |
