Sentence types
| Independent Clause | Can stand by itself or with a dependent. It expresses a complete thought. Subject + Predicate ( No conjunction) |
| Dependent Clause | Cannot stand by itself, they do not express a complete thought, Conjunction + Subject + Predicate |
| Simple Sentence | Consists of a single, independent Clause that includes a subject and a verb, ( Predicate) |
| Compound Sentence | Joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon |
| Complex Sentence | A single independent Clause and a dependent Clause. It will always contain a subordinate conjunction |
| Compound- Complex sentence | Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause |
