Sentence types

Independent Clause Can stand by itself or with a dependent. It expresses a complete thought. Subject + Predicate ( No conjunction)
Dependent Clause Cannot stand by itself, they do not express a complete thought, Conjunction + Subject + Predicate
Simple Sentence Consists of a single, independent Clause that includes a subject and a verb, ( Predicate)
Compound Sentence Joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and a coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon
Complex Sentence A single independent Clause and a dependent Clause. It will always contain a subordinate conjunction
Compound- Complex sentence Combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause
