Sentence Types
| Question | Answer |

| Independent Clause | Can stand by itself or with a Depend clause. Expresses a complete thought. Subject + Predicate(No Conjunction.) |
| Dependent Clause | Cannot stand by themselves. Do not express a complete thought. Conjunction+Subject+Predicate |
| Simple sentence | A simple sentence consists of one independent clause that includes a subject a verb and predicate. |
| Compound | Joins two independent clauses with the help of a comma and coordinating conjunction or just a semicolon. |
| Complex | a single independent clause and a dependent clause will always contain a subordinate conjunction (because, after, since, etc.) |
| compound-complex sentence | combines two or more independent clauses with at least one dependent clause |
