TermDefinition
Claim: Your overall argument or opinion that answers the question. Should include the title correctly formatted.
Reason: The WHY that defends your claim. It can also define a word in your claim.
Evidence: Include a transition word. Find direct quotes from the text that support your claim and/or reason. Evidence must include an in-text citation.
Explanation: In your own words, explain HOW the evidence connects back to the claim/reason. Explain it in detail. This is often more than a few sentences.
Conclusion: Restate the claim or reason in a new way. Don’t forget a transition word.
