Science an the Environment

QuestionAnswer
Control group In an experiment, the group that serves as a standard of comparison with another group," the un-messed around with group."
Correlation The linear the dependence between two variables. A connection between two or more things.
Data Any pieces of information acquired through observation or experimentation. Facts or stats collected for any analysis
Experimental group In an experiment, a group that is identical to the to a control group except for one factor the idea being tested
Hypothesis A theory or explanation that is based on observations and can be tested
Observation The process of getting information by using senses (see, hear, smell, touch, taste)
Prediction A statement made in advance that expresses the results that will be obtained by testing hypothesis (what you think results will be)
Variable A factor(a thing) that changes in experiment in order to test hypothesis.
