Laws of slavery.

Before 1640 A man that was any color could buy a piece of land in a colony in America.
1641 The state of Massachusetts colony made slavery legal.
1660 The state of Connecticut didn't allow people of African descent to serve in the military.
1670 The state of Virginia made lifetime enslavement the ''normal'' condition for the people in the African descent.
1680 The state of Virginia declared that the status of a child was determined by the mothers status, if the mother was enslaved the child would be, too.
1696 South Carolina required Enslavers to provide clothing for their slaves. Enslavers were also allowed to treat and punish slaves anyway they wanted to.
1702 New York made it illegal to do business with slaves without the owners permission.
1705 New York made it legal to execute freedom seekers who were caught.
1723 Slaves in Virginia weren't allowed to meet together in groups.
1740 South Carolina made it illegal to teach slaves to read and write.
