Bicameral A legislative body of 2 branches.
Republic A state in which all the power is being held by the elected leaders.
Ordinance A legislative law made by authority.
Depression The longest and deepest downturn in the history of the United States.
Manumission The way a slave owner sets slaves free.
Proportional The way an electorate votes are reflected proportionally.
Compromise When 2 armies or enemies work together to reach an agreement.
Federalism Sharing of power between national and state governments.
Legislative Branch Made up of the House and the Senate AKA The Congress.
Executive Branch Made up of the presidents and his advisers.
Electoral College The people who vote for the president and vice president.
Judicial Branch Looks and votes of the laws of the nations.
Check and Balances Separate branches and to prevent actions by other branches.
Amendment An addition to the constitution.
