Skeletal System: Surgical Procedures & Therapeutics

Arthricentesis Surgical puncture of the joint space with a needle to remove accumulated fluid.
Bone Grafting Process of transplanting and implanting tissue from one part of the body to another; used to repair a defect or injury.
Bursectomy Surgical removal of the bursa.
Diskectomy Surgical removal of a herniated (ruptured) vertebral disk.
Tenetomy Incision to, or cutting of, a tendon.
Spondylosendesis Surgical fusion of joints (ankylosis) between vertebrae; spinal fusion.
