Chemical Reactions

Atoms The tiny pieces that all matter- all the stuff in the world-is made out of
Chemical Reaction A process in which atoms rearrange to form a new substance

Property Something that can be observed about a a substance, such as color, smell, or boiling point
Reactant A starting substance that is part of a chemical reaction
Rearrange To change the order or position of soemthing
Scale The relative size of things
Substance Something that is made up of all the same atoms or groups of atoms
Boiling point The temperature at which a substance changes from liquid phase to the gas phase
Chemical formula Letters and numbers showing the types and number of atoms that repeat to make up a substance
Extended Structure A structure formed by repeating groups of atoms linked together in a large network
Melting point The temperature at which a substance changes from the solid phase to the liquid phase
molecule a group of toms joined together in a particular way
fertilizer a substance that is added soil to help plants grow
corrosive able to cause damage
