appendix (n) in anatomy, the internal organ that "hangs" on the intestines; in publishing, an attachment with extra information that "hangs" off the end of the book
appendage (n) an attachment or add0on; also, a follower or "hanger on" frequently seen accompanying a person
suspense (n) excitement and uncertainty; literally, the state of being left "hanging" "under" a final outcome
pension (n) a regular "payment" to a retired worker
pendulum (n) a swinging device that "hangs" from a support above, as in a clock
spend (v) to "pay" money or time
