What is imprinting? long-lasting behavioral response formed during a critical period
What is spatial learning? memory formation based on spatial structure or landmarks
What is associative learning? associating one environmental feature with another
What is social learning? learning through observing or imitating others
What is the biological clock? internal mechanism that controls timing of behaviors
What is a circadian rhythm? internal rhythm following about a 24-hour cycle
What are diurnal animals? active during the day
What are nocturnal animals? active during the night
What are crepuscular animals? active at dawn or dusk
What is taxis? directed movement toward or away from a stimulus
What is kinesis? change in activity rate or turning due to a stimulus
What is migration? regular long-distance movement triggered by environmental cues
