What are the two types of synapses? Electrical and chemical
What are the three main parts of a neuron? Cell body, dendrites, and axon
What is an synapse? a gap where nerons communicate using nerotranmitter
What do neurotransmitters do? Carry messages across the synapse
How do the nervous sysyem maintain homestatsis? By sending signals to regulate body function and balance.
What is the main functio of the skeletal system? To support, protect, and give shape to the body
What role does bone marrow play in physiology? It produces red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets
How do bones help maintain calcuim balance? They store calcuim and release it into the bloodstream as needed
Which cells are responsible for breaking down bone tissue? Osteoclast
Which cells build new bone tissue? Osteoblasts
What type of bone tissue is found at the ends of long bones? Spongy (cancellous) bone
