| Effector | An effector is a body part, like a muscle or a gland, that responds to a stimulus by performing an action. It receives signals from the nervous system or hormones, leading to responses such as muscle contraction or substance secretion. |
| Sensor | A sensor, also called a receptor, is a specialized cell or organ that detects environmental changes like temperature, pressure, light, or chemicals. It receives stimuli and transmits this information to the nervous system for analysis. |
| Monosaccharides | Monosaccharides are a simple form of sugar and are relatively small carbohydrates. The most important molecules that can't be broken down further by means of hydrolysis. It has a six-carbon with the following formula C6H12O6. |
| Organic Molecules | Organic molecules are a set of chemical compounds which contain carbon atoms that are bonded with hydrogen and other elements like oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus. It is the basis of all living organisms and is found in all biological systems. |
| Diffusion | Diffusion is known as a passive movement of molecules and particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration and until equilibrium is achieved. |
| Osmosis | Osmosis is the process by which water moves through a semipermeable membrane. This type of membrane permits water to pass but prevents at least one solute from crossing. |
| Glycolysis | Glycolysis is a catabolic pathway that begins with glucose, a six-carbon molecule, and ends with pyruvate, a three-carbon molecule. |
| Epithelial Tissue | It is one or more layers of densely packed cells arranged with minimal extracellular matrix. It may form either sheets or glands |
| Diaphysis | It is the central or main shaft-like portion, hollow, cylindrical in shape, and made of thick, compact bone. |
| Syndesmoses | Syndesmoses are joints where fibrous bands, known as ligaments, connect two bones. For example, the joint between the distal ends of the radius and ulna is connected by the radioulnar interosseous ligament. |
