| homeostasis | Refers to stability, balance, or equilibrium within a cell or the body |
| prophase | The first stage of cell division in mitosis and meiosis. |
| prometaphase | The transitional stage of mitosis following prophase, where the nuclear envelope breaks down, and mitotic spindle microtubules attach to the chromosomes. |
| metaphase | The stage of mitosis where chromosomes align at the center of the cell forming the metaphase plate. |
| anaphase | The stage of cell division where sister chromatids separate and move to opposite ends of the cell |
| telophase | The final stage of cell division, where chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell, new nuclear envelopes form around them, and the chromosomes begin to decondense. |
| cytokinesis | The final stage of the cell cycle where the cytoplasm of a single cell physically divides to form two genetically identical daughter cells |
| layers of germ | Ectoderm, mesoderm, endoderm |
| articulations | A joint where bones meet in the body, the way sounds are produced in speech, or the specific techniques used to playa musical note |
