Homeostasis refers to stability, balance, or equilibrium within a cell or the body. It is an organism’s ability to keep a constant internal environment.
What are the four basic tissue types? Epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous
What organelle is the "powerhouse" of the cell? Mitochondria
What is the function of the skeletal system? Support, protection, movement, and blood cell production
What is the main function of enzymes? To speed up chemical reactions.
Define diffusion Movement of molecules from high to low concentration.
What does the integumentary system include? Skin, hair, nails, and sweat glands.
What is a cell The basic unit of life
Define anatomical position Standing upright, facing forward, arms at sides, palms forward
What is an osteocyte? A mature bone cell that maintains bone tissue.
