What is homeostasis? The body’s ability to maintain a stable internal environment despite changes in the external environment environment
What are four main types of bio molecules? Carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids.
What is the main function of the cell membrane? To control what enters and leaves the cell and protect the cells internal environment.
What’s the definition of of fluid mosaic model? It describes the structure of the cell membrane as a flexible layer made of lipid molecules with proteins embedded in throughout.
What are the four main types of tissue in the human body? Epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue.
What is the function of epithelial tissue? It covers body surfaces, line cavities, and forms glands.
What is the main function of the skeletal system. To provide structure, support, protect, and movement for the body, and to produce blood cells.
Articulation A joint, the point where two bone meet and allow for movement or stability.
What is the role of calcium in muscle contraction. Calcium binds to troponin, allowing actin and myosin to interact, which causes muscle contraction.
