| aplastic anemia | caused by red blood cells not being formed in sufficient quantities |
| hemolytic anema | anemia caused by destruction of red blood cells |
| iron deficiency anemia | anemia caused by inadequate iron intake |
| apheresis | process similar to dialysis, that draws out patient's blood, removes something from it, then returns the rest of the blood back to the patient's body |
