What is homeostasis? The body’s ability to maintain a stable internal environment.
Why is homeostasis important for cells? Cells cannot function properly without stable internal conditions.
What happens if the body does not maintain homeostasis? We get sick or may die.
What are some internal conditions the body needs to keep stable? Temperature, pressure, oxygen level, acidity, and moisture.
What will be studied throughout the book in relation to homeostasis? How organs and systems help maintain stable internal conditions.
What are the basic units of matter studied in anatomy? Atoms and molecules.
What are biomolecules? Large molecules made in the body, like carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.
Why are biomolecules important in physiology? They are involved in storing energy, building cells, and sending signals.
What will be learned about biomolecules in physiology? Their chemical nature and types found in the body
How does learning about biomolecules help in future studies? t builds a foundation for understanding genetics, energy use, and body functions.
