QuestionAnswer
What is homeostasis? The body's ability to keep internal conditions stable.
What does the negative feedback mechanism do? It reverses changes to maintain balance
What is the plasma membrane's main job? To control what enters and leaves the cell.
What is the function of mitochondria? They make ATP energy for the cell.
What does epithelial tissue do? It protects, absorbs, and secretes substances.
How does the integumentary system regulate heat? By sweating and adjusting blood flow.
What do osteoblasts and osteoclasts do? Osteoblasts build bone; osteoclasts break it down.
What happens in the sliding filament theory? Actin and myosin slide to shorten muscle fibers.
What occurs in the synapse? Nerve signals pass through neurotransmitters.
What is an action potential? A quick electrical signal traveling along a neuron.
