| Negative Feedback Mechanism | A response to a stimulus that causes the body to regulate to a set point |
| Mitochondra | An organelle in cells that completes cellular respiration to make ATP in cells |
| Passive Transport | The movement of molecules down the concentration gradient (high to low), without energy |
| Active Transport | The movement of molecules against the concentration gradient (low to high), with energy (ATP) |
| Semipermeable | The ability to allow small molecules and specific nutrients into or out of the cell |
| Respiratory System (Breathing Rate) | The body system that completes gas exchange by inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide |
