Integrity and Honesty Professionals must maintain the highest integrity and honesty in all their professional interactions. This includes being truthful, avoiding conflicts of interest, and maintaining confidentiality when appropriate.
Competence and Professional Development Professionals are responsible for continuously improving their knowledge and skills and providing competent and up-to-date client services. They should pursue ongoing professional development
Client and Public Welfare The well-being and best interests of clients and the general public should be the primary concern for professionals, providing quality services, respecting the rights and dignity of clients, and avoiding any actions that may harm or exploit them.
Professional Boundaries Professionals should establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, colleagues, and others they interact with professionally, avoid conflicts of interest, maintain proper personal relationships
Respect and Diversity Professionals should treat all individuals with respect and dignity, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic. They should promote inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and diversity
Ethical Decision-Making Professionals are expected to make ethical decisions by considering the potential impact of their actions on clients, colleagues, and the public. They should weigh the risks and benefits, consult relevant guidelines and laws, and seek advice
Professional Responsibility Professionals should accept responsibility for their actions and the consequences that arise from them. They should be accountable for their professional conduct, take responsibility for errors or mistakes, and take appropriate steps to rectify them.
Legal and Ethical Compliance Professionals must comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. They should avoid engaging in illegal or unethical activities and report concerns or violations to the appropriate authorities.
