| Homeostasis | Constant state maintained in the body |
| Oxytocin | A natural hormone that stimulates uterine contractions in childbirth and lactation after childbirth |
| Enzyme | substance produced by a living organism which acts as a catalyst to bring about a specific biochemical reaction |
| Lipid | Any of a class of organic compounds that are fatty acids or derivatives and are insoluble in organic solvents |
| Catabolism | The breakdown of complex molecules in living organisms to form simpler ones, together with the release of energy; destructive metabolism |
| Matrix | An environment or material in which something develops |
| Cartilage | White-ish flexible connective tissue found in various forms in the larynx and respiratory tract, external ear and articulating surfaces of joints |
| Elastic Cartilage | Strong, flexible connective tissue that protects your joints and bones |
| Dialysis | The separation of particles in a liquid on the basis of differences in their ability to pass through a membrane. |
| Ectoderm | Outermost layer of cells or tissue of an embryo in early development, or the parts derived from this, which include the epidermis and nerve tissue |
