| Homeostasis | The body’s ability to keep internal conditions stable even when the outside environment changes |
| Negative Feedback | A process that reverses a change to bring the body back to balance (like cooling down when you’re hot). |
| Cell Membrane | The outer layer of a cell that controls what enters and leaves |
| Diffusion | Movement of particles from an area of high concentration to low concentration. |
| Osmosis | The movement of water across a membrane |
| Mitochondria | The “powerhouse” of the cell that makes energy (ATP). |
| Neuron | A nerve cell that sends and receives electrical messages. |
| Action Potential | The electrical signal that travels along a neuron. |
| Synapse | The small gap between two neurons where neurotransmitters send signals |
| ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) | The main energy source used by cells for all functions. |
