| parallel circuit | an electric circuit that has multiple pathways |
| closed circuit | a complete path where electricity can move |
| open circuit | a broken path where electricity cannot move |
| fuse | a safety device that breaks the circuit if there is too much current |
| switch | a device that opens or closes a circuit to stop or start the flow of electricity |
| battery | a source of stored chemical energy that provides electricity for a circuit |
| pathway | the route that electricity follows through a circuit |
