zero pair two numbers whose sum is zero; opposite numbers
negative numbers numbers that are less than 0; located to the left of 0 on a horizontal number line and below 0 on a vertical number line
opposite numbers numbers that are the same distance from 0 on a number line but in opposite directions; have the same numeral, but opposite signs
positive numbers numbers that are greater than 0; located to the right of 0 on a horizontal number line and above 0 on a vertical number line
