Transpiration The release of water vapor mainly through the small openings on the underside of the leaf that drives the movement of materials through a plant.
Adaptation A trait that helps a living thing survive in its enviornment
Stimulus Something in the environment that causes action
response A reaction from a stimulus
tropism A plant's response to water, gravity, light and touch
Internal Structures Structures that are found inside an organism's body
external structures Structures that are part of the outside of an organisms body
Structural Adaptations Inherited change to physical features that helps an organisms survive and reproduce.
Sensory Organs Organs such as skin, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, touch taht gather info from outside the body
Echolocation The process of finding an object by using reflected sound
Neverous Systems the set of organs that use information from the senses to control all body systems
Central Nervous System part of the nervous system made up of the brain and spinal cord
brain an organ in the nervous system that interprets messages received, and sends messages to other organs
Spinal cord A thick bundle of nerves inside the spine
Peripheral Nerve a set of nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body
Opaque completely blocking light from passing through
image a picture of the light source that light rays make in bouncing off a polished, shiny surface.
refration the bending of light as it passes from one transparent material to another
Concave lens a lens that is thinner in the middle that always makes objects smaller
Convex Lens A lens that is thick in the middle and always makes objects bigger
Transparent letting all light through
Translucent letting only some light through
Binary Code a system that represents letters, digits, or other characters using 0's and 1's
coding the process of writing a computer program in a language that can be used by a computer.
