Procedure The step by step list of directions to be followed
Controls The things in the experiment that remain the same
Hypothesis An educated guess or prediction about the outcome of the experiment
Conclusion A paragraph that restates the result, explains why the outcome occurred and states whether the hypothesis was correct or incorrect
Materials The objects used to perform the experiment
Problem The ? that is investigated
Results Sentences that state the final result of the experiment
Observations Qualitative- what you see hear taste touch and smell Quantitative- the measurable results written in chart form
Independent Variable The one thing in the experiment that changes or varies during the experiment
Dependent Variable The measurable results that are observed and recorded during the experiment
Graph line, bar, or circle graph of the final results
