| Anatomical Position | Standard body position: standing upright, feet forward, arms at sides with palms facing forward |
| pH | A measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution, ranging from 0-14 |
| Enzyme | A protein that speeds up chemical reactions in the body without being consumed |
| Mitochondria | The "powerhouse" of the cell; organelles that produce ATP through cellular respiration |
| Cell Membrane | A selectively permeable barrier that controls what enters and leaves the cell |
| Epithelial Tissue | Tissue that covers body surfaces, lines cavities, and forms glands |
| Epidermis | The outermost layer of the skin composed of stratified squamous epithelium |
| Osteoblast | Bone cells that build new bone tissue by depositing calcium and collagen |
| Axial Skeleton | The portion of the skeleton consisting of the skull, vertebral column, and rib cage |
