QuestionAnswer
Empire A large territory or group of territories under one ruler.
Code A set of official rules; a system of principles or rules.
Tribute An act or gift that shows gratitude and respect.
Province A small area within a greater empire, like a state or district.
Caravan A group of merchants traveling together for safety, usually with animals.
Astronomer A person who studies planets and stars.
Surplus An extra amount after basic needs have been met.
Cuneiform A writing system created by Sumerians that used wedge-shaped marks.
Scribe A record-keeper or a person who writes things down.
Irrigation Man-made channels that supply crops with water.
