Behavior of Light
| Term | Definition |

| Mirror | Smooth surface that reflects (bounces) light off an image of what is in front of it. |
| Reflection | The bouncing off of light rays from the surface of an object such as a mirror or other shiny surface. |
| Lens | Piece of clear material, such as glass or plastic, that bends (refracts) light rays as it passes through |
| Prism | A solid glass or plastic object that light can pass through, refracts, and splits it into the colors of the rainbow. |
| Refraction | The bending of light rays, bending light means that it changes direction and/or speed. |
| Absorb | When light is taken all in and absorbed, specifically in black surface objects. |
| Medium | a substance, (solid, liquid, or gas) through which light can or cannot travel through |
| Transmit | When light moves through a medium without being affected. |
