fraction - a number that is used to name part of a whole
decompose - to break a number into smaller parts
compose - to combine parts to form a number
mixed number - a fraction greater than one; it has a whole number and a fraction
improper fraction - a fraction greater than one whose numerator is greater than the denominator
whole numbers - a number that is not a fraction; all counting numbers and the number 0
numerator - the top number of a fraction that tells the number of equal parts that are being looked at
denominator - the bottom number of a fraction that tells the total number of equal parts that a whole is divided into
whole - all of; entire; numbers that include numerals; not a fraction or a decimal
part - not a whole; a piece of something
