| Solstice | Earth is directly tilted toward or away from the sun which causes the longest or shortest daylight of the year. |
| Equinox | Earth is not bited toward the Sun which causes equal day and night |
| Gravity | Force that attracts all object towards each other |
| Law of universal gravitation | Every object attracts every other and force depends on mass and distance |
| Inertia | Is the tendency of an object to resist a change in motion |
| Phase | Different shape of the moon you see |
| Solar eclipse | When the moon passes directly between the sun and earth |
| Lunar eclipse | Occurs during a full moon when Earth is directly between the moon and Sun |
| Umbra | Darkest part of a shadow where light is completely Blocked |
| Penumbra | Area of a shadow where light is partially blocked |
| Tide | Daily rise and fall of ocean Water |
| Spring tide | Higher high tides during full and new moon |
| Neap tide | Lower high tides |
| Highlands | Areas that often dotted with craters |
