| Constellation | A pattern of stars that represent a picture. |
| Geocentric | A model of our solar system with everything revolving around earth. |
| Heliocentric | A model of our solar system with everything revolving around the Sun. |
| Ellispe | The orbit of each planet. |
| Sun | Largest object in our solar system. |

| Rotation | The spinning of earth on its axis |
| Revolution | The movement of one object around another |
| Orbit | Earth path around the sun |
| Solstice | One day per year when the sun rises the highest |
| Equinox | Half way between solstice , neither hemisphere is tilted towards the sun |
| Gravity | The force that attracts thing towards each other. |
| Law of the universal gravitation | Every object in the universe attracts to another object. |
| Inertia | The tendency in an object to resist a change in motion. |

| Solar eclipse | When the moon passes directly between the Earth and Sun during a new moon |

| Tide | Daily rise and fall of ocean water |
| Spring tide | Higher high tides during full and new moons |
| Neap tide | Lower tides during the first and third quarter moons |
| Maria | Dark smooth, lava covered areas on the moon |
| Highlands | Higher lighter areas on the moon covered in craters |
| Penumbra | Area of a shadow where light is partially blocked |
| Umbra | Darkest part of a shadow where light is completely blocked. |
