| Planet | Sphericall, orbits the sun, with a larger mass than nearby objects |
| Satellite | Body that orbits a planet |
| Meteor | Streak of light produced when a small piece of rock or ice burns up as it enters the Earths atmosphere. |
| Comet | Cold mixture of dust and ice that develops a long trail of light as it approaches the sun. |
| Constellation | A pattern or group of stars that people imagine to be a animal |
| Geocentric | Earth centered model |
| Heliocentric | Sun centered model |
| Elispe | An oval shape. |
| Sun | Largest object in our solar system |
| Axis | Imaginary line that passes from the North Pole, to the South Pole. |
| Rotation | Spinning of Earth on its Axis. |
| Revolution | Is movement of one object around another. |
| Solstice | Occur when either northern or southern hemisphere is at its strongest tilt towards the sun |
| Equinox | Occurs when the sun passes directly overhead at the equator at noon |
| Hypothesized | The same force that pills thr moon toward the earth. |
| Gravity | Force that attracts other objects |
| Law of universal gravitation | That every object in the universe attracts every other object |
| Inertia | Tendency of an object to resist a change in motion |
| Phase | Different shape of the moon you see |
| Solar Eclipse | When the moon passes directly between the earth and sun |
| Lunar eclipse | Occurs during a full moon when earth is directly between the moon and sun |
| Umbra | Darkest part of s shadow where light is completely blocked |
| Penumbra | Area of a shadow where light is partially blocked |
| Tide | Daily rise and fall of ocean water |
| Spring tide | Higher high tides during full new moons |
| Neap Tide | lower high tides during thr first and third quarter moon |
| Maria | Dark smooth lava covered areas on the moon |
| Highlands | Higher lighter areas on the moon covered with craters |
