Satellite A satellite is a body that orbits a planet
Star A star is a giant ball super heated gas or plasma composed of hydrogen and helium
Planet Spherical orbits the sun with a larger mass than nearby objects
Meteor A meteor is a streak of light produced when small pieces of rock or ice.
Comet A comet is a cold mixture of dust and ice that develops a long trail of light as approaches the sun.
Constellation A pattern or group of stars that people imagine represents a figure animal or object is a constellation.
Geocentric Earth centered model is known as a geocentric .
Heliocentric A sun centerterd or heliocentric
Ellipse An oval shape rather than a perfect circle
Sun Largest in our solar system
Axis Imaginary line that passes from the North Pole through the rpearths center to the South Pole.
Rotation And the spinning of earth on its axis is called rotatin
Orbit Earths path or orbit around the sun is an ellipse.
Solstice Solstice occur when either the northern or southern hemisphere is at its strongest tilt towards the sun.
Equinox Night and day are both 12 hours long
Gravity This force that Accra to all objects toward each other is called gravity
Law of universal Stats that evert object in the universe attracts every other abject
Inertia Is the tendency of an object to resist a change in motion.
Revolution Is the movement of one object around another
Phase Different shape of the moon you see
Solar eclipses When the moon passes directly between the earth and sun
Lunar eclipse Occurs during a full moon when earth is directly between the moon and sun
Umbra Darkest part of a shadow where light is completely blocked.
Penumbra Area of a shoawdow where light is partially blocked
Tide Daily ride and fall of ocean water
Spring tide Higher tides during full and new moons
Neap tide Lower high tide during the first and third quarter moons.
Maria Dark smooth lava covers areas on the moon.
High lands Higher light areas on the moon covered with crates
