| glucose | A molecule that organisms can use to release energy, and that is made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms |
| molecules | A group of atoms joined together in a particular way |
| oxygen | A molecule that organisms get from the air or water around them and use to release energy |
| amino acid | Molecules that are the building blocks of proteins |
| Circulatory system | The body system that transport molecules to and from all cells of the body |
| digestive system | The body system that takes in food and breaks it down |
| respiratory system | The body system that takes in oxygen and releases carbon dioxide |
| system | A set of interacting parts forming a complex whole |
| protein | A category of large molecules that performs important functions inside living things |
| starch | A type of energy storage molecule made up of many glucose molecules connected together |
| diagnosis | The process of identifying the nature and cause of a problem by analyzing signs and symptoms |
