| Anatomy | The study of the structure of an organism and the relationship of its parts |
| 4 Major Principal Types of Tissue | Epithelial, Connective, Muscle and Nervous |
| Mitochondrial | "Powerhouse" of the cell that provides energy needed for the cell to carry on day to day functioning, growth and repair |
| Afferent | a signal is traveling toward a particular center or point of reference |
| Efferent | a signal is traveling away from a center or point of reference |
| Isotope | an element containing the same number of protons but different number of neutrons |
| Chemical Reaction | interactions between two or more atoms occur largely as a result of activity between electrons in their outermost energy level |
| Metabolism | all the chemical reactions that occur in body cells, also known as body chemistry. |
| Catabolism | consists of chemical reactions that not only break down relatively complex compounds into simpler ones but also release energy from them |
| Anabolism | chemical reactrion that join simple molecules together to form complex biomolecules, notably carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids |
