What is Anatomy? The study of the structure of an organism and the relationship of its parts _
What are atoms? Tiny spheres of matter so small they are invisible
What is mitochondria? The "power houses" of cells that provide energy needed by the cell to carry on day to day functioning, growth and repair
What is the epidermis? The superficial thinner layer
What is the dermis? The deep thicker layer
What is excretion? Regulation of sweat volume and content
What are bones? Rigid mineralized structures that help perform five major roles in the body
What are ligaments? Fibrous bands that help hold the various bones together into an organized skeleton
What are osetoblasts? Small cells that synthesize and secrete an organic matrix called osteoid
What are osteoclasts? Giant multinucleate cells that are responsible for the active erosion of bone minerals
