Prior to the system of the 3 estates The system of the Three Estates and the heavy taxes on the Third Estate developed because the king and government needed money, especially to pay for wars and royal expenses. The First Estate (clergy) and Second Estate (nobles) were mostly exempt from tax
1/3 French Rev Causes Political - Absolute monarchy gave all power to king, ignoring the people. -Weak leadership from King Louis XVI, who made poor decisions. -Enlightenment ideas encouraged people to question authority.
2/3 French Rev Causes Social Three Estates system was unfair: clergy and nobles had privileges, Third Estate had none. -Growing resentment of inequality among commoners. -Nobles & clergy resisted reforms, keeping 3rd estate powerlesss
3/3 French Rev Causes Economic -France was in huge debt from wars and royal spending. -High taxes fell mostly on the Third Estate. -Food shortages and rising prices made life very hard for common people.

The French Rev inspired revolution in Latin America ... hey wanted to fight Spanish and Portuguese rule. Ideas of freedom, equality, and independence inspired leaders like Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín to lead revolutions for freedom.
