What is the function of the cell membrane? t controls what enters and leaves the cell and protects the cell’s contents.
What part of the cell contains genetic material (DNA)? The nucleus.
What is the function of mitochondria? They produce energy (ATP) through cellular respiration.
What structure is responsible for making proteins? Ribosomes.
What does the cytoplasm do? It holds organelles in place and allows chemical reactions to occur.
What is the largest bone in the human body? The femur (thigh bone).
What are two main functions of the skeletal system? It provides structure/support and protects internal organs.
What are two main functions of the skin? Protection from pathogens and regulation of body temperature.
Which vitamin is produced by the skin when exposed to sunlight? Vitamin D.
What is the function of the appendix? It may help store good bacteria and support immune function.
