What is Anatomy? Is the study of the structure of an organism and the relationship of its part.
Anatomy terms that means nearer the surface? Superficial
Blood production is the function of the Skeletal system.
Anatomical Position? Upright standing, feet slightly apart, arms at the slides, and palm facing forward.
Ionic bonds? Chemical bonds formed by the transfer of electrons from one atom to another.
Acids? Release hydrogen ions.
The only organelle that has a double membrane? Mitochondrion.
Function of the cell membrane? To control what enters and leaves the cells.
Body lying face down? Prone.
What epithelial cells synthesize the pigment melanin? Melanocytes.
The outer boundary of a human cell is called? Plasma membrane.
The two major categories of body membranes are? Epithelial and connective.
The basic determinant of the skin color? Melanin.
Bone contains? Osteocytes.
The strongest and most durable type of cartilage is.? Fibrocartilage.
Zygomatic bone is a? Facial bone.
Two bones that compose the shoulder girdle? Clavicle and scapula.
Fibrocartilage can be found in the? Symphysis pubis.
Homeostasis? The relatively constant states maintained by the body.
Skin cells are held tighter together by? Desmosomes.
The common type of cartilage is.? Hyaline.
What body part does the trunk consist of? chest abdomen pelvis
Cartilage is classified as? connective tissue.
