What are long bones ? Example of long bones are are the humerus in the upper arm and the femur in the lower legs
What are flat bones? flat bones are the bones that make up the skull , the ribs, and the pelvis. Flat bones are spongy on the inside and firm bone on the outside.
Other than differentiating between axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton bones, what is another way to classifying bones ? differentiating between flat bones and long bones
The appendicular skeleton is made up of what and what does it form ? The appendicular skeleton is made up of the forelimbs and pelvis. The appendicular skeleton is formed by our four appendages .
The axial skeleton is made up of what and what does it form? the axial skeleton is made up of our skull, ribcage, and vertebral column. The axial skeleton forms the center down our midline.
One way of classifying bones ? differentiating between those that form the axial skeleton and those that form the appendicular skeleton
What is a purpose for bones and bone marrow helps? Bones provide protection for our organs and the bone marrow helps the immune system
How does the body separate the bones ? The body separates the bones with cartilage and joints.
What are the two types of bone marrow? red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow
red bone marrow red bone marrow is the site for hematopoiesis and eepiphyses
yellow bone marrow yellow bone marrow is the site where fat is stored
