Anatomy The study of the structure of the body.
Gross anatomy Study of structures that can be seen with the naked eye.
Microscopic Anatomy deals with structures too small to be seen with the naked eye.
Anatomical Position Standing straight, feet forward, eyes forward, palms facing forward (thumbs away from body) aka supinated / anterior facing
Abdominal Cavity Contains stomach, intestines, spleen, and liver, and other organs.
Pelvic Cavity contains reproductive organs, bladder, rectum
Four Types of Tissue 1. Epithelial (covering) 2. Connective (support) 3. Muscle (movement) 4. Nervous (control)
Four Types of Connective Tissue 1. Connective Tissue Proper 2. Cartilage 3. Bone 4. Blood
Is cartilage more abundant in embryos or adults? embryo
