Positive Feedback Amplify or reinforce a change that is happening. Ex: Giving Birth
Negative Feedback Oppose a change within the body like the temperature.
Ionic Bond Chemical bond formed by transfer of electrons from one atom to another.
Covalent Bond Chemical bonds formed by the sharing of one or more pairs of electrons
Types of Carbohydrates Monosaccharides(simple sugars) Disaccharides(double sugar) Polysaccharides (complex sugars)
What are the levels of protein structure? Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Quaternary
Lysosomes Membranous bags (tiny) that contain enzymes that detox harmful substances within the cell.
Plasma Membrane Outer layer of the cell. Made oft the bilayer of the phospholipid molecules. Have nonpolar and polar tails
Osmosis Movement of water through the semipermeable membrane
Phagocytosis Large Particles "engulfed" by the plasma membrane.
Endocytosis Plasma Membrane traps extracellular material and brings it to the cell
Epithelial Tissue lines body cavities, covers and protects body surface
Connective Tissue Transports substances through the body, supports the body and connects and holds them together
Functions of Epithelial Tissues Protection, Sensory, Secretion, Absorption, Excretion
Epidermis Primary, superficial layer of skin
Osteoblasts Cells that are small in size that secrete and synthesize the organic matrix called osteoid.
