Endoplasmic Reticulum (EC) network of channels within a cell, acts as a highway for chemical movement/process.
Terms related to organs lumen, medullar, cortical, basal, apical, peripheral.
Cell connections (communication amongst cells) Tight junctions, desmosomes, gap junctions.
Extracellular Matrix (ECM) Fluid environment of the body, fills space between cells of the body, jelly like consistency due to fibers, proteins, proteoglycans
Body membranes (2 cavities) epithelial membrane: cutaneous serous mucous connective tissue: synovial lining of bones/joints
Types of exocrine glands apocrine glands (milk producing mammary gland), holocrine glands (sebaceous), merocrine glands (salivary glands).
Osteon (compact bone) lamellae, lacunae, canaliculi, and a central canal.
Types of bone cells osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes
Intramembranous bone formation (4) Ossification center develops, calcification continues, formation of trabeculae, and development of periosteum.
Types of cartilage /connective tissue hyaline cartilage, elastic cartilage, and fibrocartilage.
